Community Ministry

Davenport Perth Community Ministry (DPCM), one of two community-based ministries of Toronto West Presbytery (The United Church of Canada), walks and organizes with community residents on the basis of their own issues and concerns. DPCM lives the Spirit as a partner in community.

We believe that we co-create divine and abundant life when we work together to ensure that ALL people experience lives characterized by economic justice, social inclusion and a deep sense of community devoid of all forms of prejudice and systemic discrimination. Our commitment is to live in the world in solidarity with those who seek a better life.

DPCM’s office is in the Davenport-Perth Neighbourhood Centre (DPNC), a health and community centre built out of the redevelopment of the Davenport Perth Community Church (United Church) property.

Our steering committee is an active, passionate group of community residents, community minister(s), community organization partners, a member of South West Presbytery and two representatives from Davenport Perth Community Church.

A group of dedicated volunteers from the neighbourhood and neighbouring churches participates in and helps develop and run our various programs.
