Ontario Early Years Centre - A place for parents/caregivers and young children

The Davenport Ontario Early Years Centre is a place where parents and caregivers can bring their young children to play, get answers to parenting questions, and find information on programs and services. Children can participate in preschool activities that support their growth and development. We offer a variety of programs in different locations across the Davenport community.

 

Services include:

  • Early learning drop-in programs for any parents/caregivers and children
  • Parenting programs in Tamil, Portuguese, Mandarin and Spanish
  • Parent education and support groups
  • Information about pregnancy and parenting
  • Health programs such as dietitian visits and public health nurses
  • A pregnancy / pre-natal nutrition program
  • Preschool programs that help children get ready for kindergarten
  • Information and links to other services in the community
  • Training programs and volunteer opportunities!

Parent Relief

Occasional child care for children birth to age six
Parent Relief is a respite child care program offered on Mondays from 1:00 to 5:00p.m. The program requires pre-registration. Parents can access parent relief once a month. Please contact (416) 588-3755 ext 550/552 to book a spot.
 

 

Day Camp Programs

For Children Ages Six to Twelve Years
If your child is between the ages of six to twelve then join us for our exciting day camp programs. Children will learn a sense of community; develop positive relationships and take part in creative, skill-building activities. Camp programs also provide a variety of trips and outings in and around the city. We offer camps in March, July and August. Children must live in the Davenport catchment to be eligible.

Extended Care 8:30a.m. – 9:00 a.m. / 4:30p.m. – 5:30p.m.

Summer Day Camp

Summer Day/March Break camp is for children living in the area bordered by Bloor St, Ossington Ave, the CN Railway line and St Clair Ave.
 

 

Parents for Action Now

Are You a Parent Concerned About Your Community?
Parents for Action Now (PfAN) is a  group of concerned West End Toronto parents who are interested in building skills and  discussing issues that affect families in their community.  PfAN has worked on supporting issues such as poverty, access to childcare and community safety. This group is offered through St Christopher House. Please contact (416) 536-1234 x 27 for more information.
 

 

Ready For School Connects

Is Your Family Ready for School? Ready for School Connects is a program for newcomers and their children to help ease the transition to school in Canada.
Parents can learn more about the Canadian school system and how to help their children prepare for school. Children can improve their English, make friends, and build their independence skills.

  • 2 week summer programs
  • Healthy Child Screening events
  • Follow-up once the children have started school
  • Training for community partners
